Found this tonight roll searching. I think it might have been struck through grease mainly because the rim is intact so if it was PMD it would have to have been an awfully perfect hit. There is not indented feeling to the coin when you rub your finger over it. The first picture is without the microscope camera light on, second is with it on and you really can't see the area as well .
It looks struck thru from where I sit. The area is completely smooth? It shouldn't be. You should see/feel a difference/imperfection on the surface of the coin. It seems like I can almost see a slight ridge where the anomaly hits/strikes across his chin in the 1st pic.
If this had been a PSD coin then somewhere in the area that the anomaly contacts the rim there would be evidence of damage. Nice Struck Through !
Thanks!! Well, that's what I figured too. If it had been some kind of post damage it would have extended to the rim also. But I thought I'd get some other opinions on it also since this is the first I have ever found. So it's been a somewhat good box....a 1977 clipped quarter, several Homestead DDRs, a few Rushmore DDRs and this one that I found near the end of the box.
