It looks like a separate ring around the rim of the coin. It looks like it may have been made into a piece of Jewelry. Like a charm for a bracelet. Just from what I see, from where I sit.

Could be struck out of collar. What does the reverse look like?

 

Or it could be a dryer coin. Kind of looks like one. I'd like to see the reverse.

Sure looks like that to me. The inside edge of the enclosure is way too even to make some sort of strike/postmint action plausible, and where it shows wear (4:00 in the image), it's a more "brassy" color than you'd expect copper to appear.

 

I left. They were selling everything in the house and were up and down on selling me the coin. So I took what I already made a deal on and left.
