1916 Schilling

    I got this in a box of gun cleaning supplies.
    I was wondering if any one could identify the rev of the right Schilling?

    Sadly the date has been ground off with the the Ram coin and the obverse is too worn to see who the ruler is. So there really isn't any way to tell the year. But my guess is it's from the 1940's. These coin bracelets were popular during the war.

    that Australia rams head shilling has a date run from 1938-1963.
    the dated coins from 1938-1944 metal - .925 silver
    the dated coins from 1945-1952 metal - .908 silver
    the dated coins from 1953-1963 metal - .500 silver

    the 1st coin is a 1916 shilling- metal- .925 silver

    The ram reverse was 50 % silver minted from 53 to 63 I believe.
    I didnt know that it was a war related.
    The Man of the estate was a tall standing officer during the Korean war.

    VF20-$3.00 XF-$10.00
    yours looks like VF20 value $2.00-3.00 a very common coin.

    Still more than I paid for the whole box.
    The schillings i dipped in acetone just to see.

    Its exciting to find coins when you didn't expect them.
