A coin with bigfoot on it http://www.providentmetals.com/2016...239335945&mc_cid=d4e398f718&mc_eid=3a7ab4ca56
It looks very similar to that old video footage of Bigfoot walking away from the person taking the video. I wonder if they got permission to use the video likeness on this coin? Chris
In the product description, they mention this... The image for the privy mark was inspired by the Patterson-Gimlin film of Bigfoot walking across a sandbar in Bluff Creek, CA. I would imagine if it is copyright protected they would have gotten permission.
The crazy thing is it is being made by the Canadian Mint. This is the kind of stuff you would expect to find only from private mints, like the ones that make Zombucks. On one side you have the elegant portrait of the Queen and on the other you have Bigfoot, LOL. Ridiculous.
Looks like the Canadian Mint is making many Privy markings such as a tank, monkey and the titanic. They have a bunch of other various coins. I guess they got on the bandwagon like the US Mint.
If it could be argued one is following the other's lead, I think it would be the other way around....
I think each one is trying to outdo the other. For every action one Mint does the other reacts with something to stand out. Afterall they are competing for the money of collectors who overlap in a Venn diagram between Canadian and US coin.
Perhaps to an extent, and while certainly not meant as a blanket defense of the US Mint products, the Canadian mint puts out a ridiculous amount of goofy nonsense and has for a long time. The US mint, even with their so-called commemoratives and other purely novelty issues, pales in comparison. JMHO, of course.
I have one of those Halogram Gold Maple leaf coins I bought when it first came out. Glow in the Dark Maple Leaf?? Now I've seen everything
