Sheila, good to see you making conmections, I saw your 99 wide AM post earlier...I'm jealous! Great find! I'd have trouble selling it, I'd wanna keep it....I'd call it precious.

I want to keep it, but my husband wants me to sell it because we have 2 kids to support and bills. He knows how much I love doing this, but as you know, kids and bills come first. We are moving right now, so it may be a little bit before I can get it sent off. I want to know what it is worth being it is circulated but in good condition. I never in a million years thought I would find one of the few out there. I am going to try to keep it though. If I have to sell it then I can still say I found one. I guess in the end it is just the accomplishment and rush of finding such awesome coins. I will keep everyone informed on it's value when I send it off. It may only be a hundred dollars, but hey, I only spent a penny for it!

There's a fundamental benefit of numismatics which escapes too many collectors. Unless you're talking about a unique coin, there will always be another to be found down the road.

Years back, a gentleman named Jack Lee put together the most amazing collection of Morgan Dollars ever assembled. Excellent guy, well-liked in the hobby, utterly devoted to Morgan Dollars. His collection was the finest ever assembled. Once finished, he sold it.

And did it again. From scratch. You'll find TPG slabs with the provenance "Jack Lee I" and "Jack Lee II" on them, some with both because he owned the coin twice.

You've figured out what he knew. The catch is no better than the thrill of the chase. :)

Thank you! I have never heard about him before! That is awesome to know. I have a long ways to go before I get to know all this knowledge about numismatics, but it sure is fun and interesting! It gives me mental rest from all the real life stresses. You guys have no idea how this really gives me a piece of happiness in life's craziness. I run from drama, so therefore I don't have many true friends. You guys are a great and positive group of people. I like feeling good. Not the drama most people CHOOSE to live in. Thank you again!

I am utterly hyperactive both mentally and physically - probably the oldest diagnosed adult ADHD patient (I turn 57 soon, was diagnosed 25 years ago) you've ever known :) - and the activities surrounding numismatics offer me an island of peace away from the rest of the world, something I can concentrate my mind and heart completely on. It improves my quality of life for that reason immensely. Nothing's ever settled me like this before. I know exactly what you mean.

My husband is 45 and he is also ADHD. He does better under stress than I do. He is a manager at a restaurant. He rarely comes home in a bad mood, not matter how stressful his day was. I, on the other hand, become very overwhelmed quickly under a seriously stressful situation. Most of the time I am able to hold it together, but I fall apart sometimes. He seems to stay calm and collected all the time in all situations. Minus his constant starting a project, no matter how small, and rarely finishing it all at the same time, he is almost the perfect man. He keeps me together. This is just a break from the real world.

I just found that thread. Before reading it I thought she bumped into Ken Potter at the grocery store or something; lol. Awesome find! @Sheila Ruley, I see in that thread you're in Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach rocks! Now come on, you golf, don't you? Just a little? Don't hold out on us. I heard they don't let you live in Myrtle Beach unless you golf; it's the law! :)

I can hit the ball and chase it around. I don't think you would call what I do golfing. Lol. Actually, I have never golfed. Miniature golf yes, real golf no. Honestly, I have never had an opportunity.

Sheila, Ken is a good guy. I talk to him probably 8-10 times a week. We also set up at shows together as I dabble in errors and a little involved at CONECA.

That is cool that you talk to him quite often and set up with him. I really liked him when I spoke with him.
