image.jpg image.jpg Would this be doubled die? Or hub doubling? Or just a regular cent?

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

It looks like it is, but this wouldn't be the first time that I am wrong.

It dosen't look flat and shelf like. But, it is hard to tell what is reflection. Liberty and the st in trust look pretty convincing. Try another pic with dif lighting. Sometimes turning the coin. or setting the coin at an angle will help get rid of some of the reflection.

The master hub is used to produce the master die; the master die is used to produce the working hub; the working hub is used to produce the working die. So, a doubled die would be produced from a working die in which the doubling was created by the working hub. If the doubling was created at any stage before this, then every coin produced would be a doubled die. However, I don't see any doubling on your coin.

Go on over to Coppercoins.com, and Wexler's die varieties, also Variety Vista. There are a lot of doubled dies from 1970. Some don't show separation lines on LDS or worn examples. See if you can match it with one of those.

It's hard to make a judgement with a poorly focused photo. It also should be uniformly lit.
