I'm not too up on modern quarter varieties - what's special about this one, and what should I be looking for?

The quarter is a Denver quarter with the proof reverse design. A very very hard coin to find. If you have a proof quarter from 1969 through 1972, compare the reverse with a regular circulation strike and you will see the difference.

Check the pics I posted again:

    2 Key pick up points:

On the Proof Reverse, the E S of STATE S is separated much wider than on the Business Strike STAT "ES"

The leaf over the arrow bundle is above the arrow barbs.
On the business strike it's below it.

    * Except for the higher detail in the eagle's tail feathers on this coin ( RDV-008, TYPE H) it's the same as the Proof Reverse's on the SILVER quarters (TYPE B-RDV-002) from 1956 to 1964.*

Glad to see so many cool finds popping up recently. My weekly box of cents was another solid brick of 2016's from Philly - that's two in a row. Trying to decide if I want to call a few week pause on cents to see if the supply line clears out a little or if I want to keep dragging a full box of 'em to my dump bank every week.

The faster you take them, the faster they will get out of the supply line. You should just order like $2k all at once :p

Was able to get another box of halves before the banks closed. Glad I did, biggest score for me to date! 12 40%ers!

Maybe CT Roll Hunter's good karma went to me instead. Last week I was traveling on business (which CT Roll Hunter gets his best finds) and I came across a "dying mill town." I needed around $500 in halves so I can fill up a bag in another "dying mill town" so I could buy the bag. Expecting someone else's dump, instead I got approximately 2 rolls of 64's and 2 rolls of 40's - am still doing inventory and will get pictures up when I have some time. The bag wasn't bad either - 1 roll of 40's (including a silver '72 S), a 52 Franklin, the Ellis Island commemorative, 2 clad proofs, a 72 D no FG, a 180 degree rotation error and 2 rolls of NIFC's.

The "priceless moment" came when I had to open the rolls in front of the bank manager from whom I bought the bag from. She saw that the "supposed dump" had all that silver and her eyes bugged out!

    Just sayin... Keep it coming!

Box of pennies: 8 wheats, nothing notable.

So I am leaving for my business trip to Wyoming. Will be stopping by Cheyenne and staying in Casper. Going to hit the banks! Hoping I can get a good score.

I suggest going to Torrington (Goshen County Seat) and Wheatfield (Platte County Seat), they are between Casper and Cheyenne and are driveable via I-25 and US 26. Call ahead to the banks and see what they have, you may be surprised.

Of course this would be in addition to calling the vault tellers of the major banks at Casper and Cheyenne and seeing what reserves they have in halves and Ikes. Often in major cities in sparsely populated areas the main banks act like the Fed and collect the halves, etc. I found that when I CRH'd Alaska last summer.

I always wanted to CRH Wyoming. Good luck, and make sure to post your finds!

I usually wait until both weekly boxes are done to post but I just had an outstanding 1st box.

    7 walkers, 3 40%, and a 1926 British penny. And a proof and a 1987 that I didn't photograph.
