I agree completely-- the lighting he uses is either generated by special lamp placement, or use of brightness/ contrast in Photoshop to enhance surfaces.
Not to be too picky, but isn't it John Albanese, not Mark?[/QUOTE] Of course his name is John. At the time I was typing this (Pre-ban) we were talking about Mark Salzberg and John starting NGC. I never noticed this error until tonight as I try to catch up on the last two weeks. Missed you guys!

Yeah, I thought some DCAM Proof Eagle Golds really looked black based on their Ebay pics -- they aren't. And 1 seller has photos of a 2009 UHR MS70PL looking creamy-gold that is light-years better than anybody else's. It's the light-angle, because the Reverse Proof Buffalo I got from him will show enhanced/blackish features IF the light angle is correct.

Update--- was not sent in for beaning. Was sent in for upgrade, specified minimum grade 65. No word yet.
Oh my! They have to take it out of the holder to grade it, right? Or are they grading through holders, now? And how do you get it back if it doesn't make your grade, in a 2x2? Really, the bean was in the bag, the way you sounded. I don't know why you didn't just follow through.
It depends what service tier you select. If you do a regrade it will get a new holder regardless and will just have the same grade if they don't upgrade it. If you do reconsideration it will keep its current holder unless it meets the minimum upgrade.
For reconsideration yes they will grade it in the holder. They grade cross overs in the holder as well. Both methods put the submitter at a disadvantage as they have to look through plastic so they will be more conservative, but it protects the current holder if you have an old rattler or something like that you don't want to lose without a grade bump.
No green bean. Shocked, but the naysayers were right. It is going for grade reconsideration right now, haven't heard yet. Mea Culpa, I was wrong about the beanie.
