I have a few business trips coming up to different states. I am driving so I will pick up some boxes to see what the CRH action is like in other locales.

$5 MWR pennies - skunk. 7 out of 10 rolls were solid 2015-P. Once I figured that out I saved a few and have them offered on eBay for a small profit.

    $10 MWR nickels - 1949-D (hole filler), 1940, 1941, 1958-D

Beman, I do the same when I travel. I've given up on boxes of halves where I live, so I look forward to sampling other areas when I travel both for work and pleasure! Good luck to you

Ain't it just grand to find something that old and hard to find!

Three boxes of halves today...ONE 40%. It beat pruning the hedge, but not by much.

Box of nickels... started great. First roll, war nick. Second roll, buff.
Box results: 1 war, 1 buff. Bet the next box in the row was wonderful.

I'm having to wait a few days to get more ammo to search through. My banks are reloading for me. This weekend my goal is to get 5 boxes of halves. Will have to hustle. Got Friday off for Holy Week so game is on!

Been a while since I posted, this is what I've found since last time:

    6x 40% Halves (65, 4x 67, 68)

    1x 1964 Kennedy

    2x Franklins (59D, 63D)

    8x Ike dollars (nothing special)

    1x 1981P SBA

    14x wheat pennies ('40s and '50s)

    1x 1936 Buffalo nickel

    1x 1945S war nickel

No luck in dimes (solid boxes of 2015-D),

found a few bicentennial quarters and filled some holes in my ATB folder, but no silver

Any time I find a readable date Buffalo, it's a good box. :)

I just finished a BWR box of Nickels and didn't get lucky. Worst box I've had in months. Found one 1939-P with steps, but not a top-shelf face, a couple of average condition 1940's coins that I'll keep, three I'll release, and a few (4) 1950's keepers (6 got released).

Nothing better than my book, except for (maybe) a crisp 1971-D that may be an upgrade. We'll see...

I know someone just posted this I remember thinking that must suck. Then it happened to me. Lesson learned to check box at the bank (or at least in the parking lot).

@coinMD, it happens to all of us at least once...

... and usually more than once!

Welcome to the "oh crap, I got an entire box of shiny new coins" club.

I am at least lucky to live in an area with many banks I can go to exchange the box

A quick look on eBay shows boxes of new, uncirculated 2016 pennies selling for $40-$55 each. Even after fees and the trouble of going to the post office, you'd probably still be up a few bucks.

I didn't find a lot of silver today, by weight, but it was a lot of fun to find my third Barber half this year (which is also my third ever). A 1915-D...which means I have two of the same date and mintmark. It was the only silver coin in 4 CWRs. The 6 war nickels came from 3 boxes of nickels...I am trying to win the big battle to find a 1939-D!

Penny searching and today's find were a 1918, 1942 S and 1950. Few other wheats as keepers but already had them for the book.

Picked up the weekly 4 boxes of halves and $50 of cents. They only had 1 box and the other $25 was CWR. I'm glad they were because the box is solid 2016P.

    Halves:
    Box 1 - 69D
    Box 2- Skunk
    Box 3 - 3 Walkers (27S, 39P, 45S), 1 1968D
    Box 4 - 1 Walker (46S), 1 Ben (63D), 2x68D, 87P, 87D, 3 Proofs (77S, 00S, 01S)

I'm pretty happy with that :)
