Hi everyone, today I got a 2009 10 dollar star note from the bank and I was wondering if it is worth anything. It is crisp and only has one minor crease going down the middle. Is it worth keeping or should I spend it?
$10 2009 JG00148354* Run Size 2,176,000 Total Printed 2,176,000 Other Info Run Number: 1 Serial Number Range: 00000001 ↔ 02176000 Printed in FW in 9 2013 I would spend it.
IMO, the hammer price, fees and shipping will net you less than face value. Spend it on something stupid. (BTW, I don't mean your spouse)
Option two: If you have no other, save it until a better one comes along. Remember, Hamilton may be replaced with a women's portrait soon. Or may share space on the currency with her. Nothing to loose if you wait and see.
A crisp bill does NOT have creases nor the problems in the upper left corner! Spend it as it only has 2 zeros to start plus it's 10$
I'd keep it, because it's a star note that cost you face value. You can always bundle it with something else for a trade. Put it in a sleeve and hold it. Having said that, I'm a low end collector, so my bar is low. I just like to find cool things!
Cool find, but doesn't have a premium over face value because of it's condition. I keep several star notes in my wallet to show people what to look for, and eventually spend them. I also keep a $1 Hawaiian, a 1929 small size Tampa National, and a $5 Legal Tender (red seal) in my wallet for educational purposes.
I have a $10 star note serial # JD 00109919* Is it worth more than face value? It's in pretty good condition, but not perfect.
I'd hang on to it until money got tight and then spend it. I usually only keep ones, twos, and maybe a $5, but spend the large denominations.
