I think this is a Washington Dollar Coin with missing edge lettering. Not quite sure what to make of the Jefferson Nickel. Found them both today!
The prez dollar does look like it's missing the edge lettering, but it would have been better if you hadn't put your fingerprints on it. FWIW, I had a Washington Prez dollar missing partial edge lettering certified by NGC. If I recall correctly, it was graded MS64, and it sold on eBay about 4 years ago for $228. Chris
Unfortunately not much... Truth be told I haven't seen one without the lettered edge since they were the big thing, and even then it wasn't my area. With that said though I can't see any lettering, but take with a grain of salt. I'm trying to think who may be best to answer this one... perhaps @19Lyds ? Guess we'll see.....
Ive handled a few missing edge lettering and that seems like a winner. Although keep in mind the market for the missing edge lettering has gone down a lot since more and more keep turning up.
Save the dollar, spend the nickel (if you can find anything to spend it on). These missing edge lettering dollars are much more of a true error than the so-called DDO I keep seeing people posting on here, and as such, do, and will continue to have, more value to collectors today and in the future than those other "errors".

To each his own. One has a far greater chance of finding the dollar error multiple times in their lifetime as opposed to finding a single 1969-S DD Lincoln. So foolish people can just keep wasting their time looking for the "Lost Dutchman's Mine" of coins in rolls and never strike it rich. Take it from me, looking at those dates and MM will eventually cause you to go blind as an old man like myself, you'll still have nothing, and then we'll see how Ha-Ha funny it is. Welcome to CT. The nickel is PMD or Post Mint Damage. The dollar appears to be missing the edge lettering. In it's circulated condition with your fingerprints on it, it's not worth a lot, maybe $35.00 tops.
I am already a retired old man. My eyes are pretty good but I don't hear very well. I don't need or intend to make any money from coins. I love Linclon die varieties. Other types of errors don't interest me. I am happy that I found numerous doubled dies searching rolls. I have found a lot of other types of errors too, and I save them, but I only really care about the doubled die varieties
Thanks. To sell something like this I would need to have it graded correct? It would most likely end up costing me money to sell it. I'm guessing it has more than just my prints on it. Probably thousands of prints.
Fingerprints don't matter as much on Nickels or dimes unless they are silver. On a copper coin one fingerprint will ruin it. The oils on the skin corrode the coin. Always handle a coin by the edges, or wear gloves.
Not worth the upside to have it graded, I wouldn't think. Maybe if ANACS runs a specialor something. But, I'm going to play the devil's advocate, somebody prove me wrong. It's a circulated dollar coin. Hasn't it spent most it's life in vending machines, parking pay boxes, etc.? Wearing the edges as it rolls down? I don't see the obverse or reverse very well, but it could be like the slot machine Kennedys I see.
I don't think it would be necessary to have it graded. I'm sure there are plenty of bidiots who might be interested in it raw. All you need is two of them chasing it at auction to get a decent price for it. If you decide to list it on eBay, be sure to check the "Watch Count" to see how many people are following it. Chris
