Newp 1838 Cuzco 8 reales courtesy of Mainebill

Have been looking to add one of this type to my collection for a while. Most I have seen were either very worn and/or problem coins, or grossly overpriced, or just superb examples that were beyond what I could afford.
Picked this beauty up from @Mainebill for a fair price and very happy that I did. It had lots of surface crud, which cleaned up nicely as Bill predicted it would.

Glad you liked it. I thought the design very cool why I bought it. And I like big heavy silver coins and of course it was an early coin.

That is a super coin! In my world Latin American coins with the sun are a "must have". The fact that it is a crown and not a minor makes it even more awesome.
