When I buy coins I always save the papers. But this time in Vcoins things really turned different. Except from a German dude I normally don’t use other dealers in Vcoins when spending in the high end of the price. But I was looking for a Stavraton for a pretty long time, so when I finally found one in vcoins I decided to go after it even when it was not from Germany. I paid and received the desired coin as expected, but I did not receive invoice paper from the dealer. I have purchased from 3 other dealers in Vcoins and I always received invoice papers from them. So I wrote to him and pointed out that I have not received invoice paper neither from mails nor when the packet arrived at my door. He answered that he will mail me the receipt but it has been postponed 2 or 3 times now. So I would like to ask anyone here who has bought coins from several dealers in vcoins: do you always receive invoice paper when purchasing in vcoins? Something else: Also when I received that coin I received a CNG paper I don't understand fully. I did not bought it from CNG: Above to left there are six digits. The same six digits appear also beneath to right. At the bottom there is a bar code. I have removed them here just for safe. Ignore the blue scripture of mine. I have tried to type the six digits in cngcoins.com, but with no result. Can anyone tell me what this is? Is this a sort of invoice? I normally receive invoice paper, but this time...
I am a dealer on VCoins, so I will give my opinion (and explanation to your second part). I dont send paper invoices to my customers. A copy of the invoice is sent to each customer via e-mail, which they can choose to print or not. The same invoice can be seen within your account on VCoins, and anyone can print to on demand at any time. With thousands of invoices and sales I have never had anyone request I print one for them. Honestly they can do it and get it instantly (and cheaply, as I assume ink and a piece of paper likely costs maybe one penny). As to the tag in your image: That is just the dealer sending you some provenance on the coin. It is a CNG inventory tag (the numbers will not produce any results by searching their site). Such coins are sold privately and at coin shows. It just tells you that at one point in time CNG either owned it or sold it.
It is a bit random ... when I buy from CNG, I always get a sweet computer invoice "and" an in-snail-mail copy (sweet, right?) Ummm, but it is a bit random from the vcoins dudes ... occasionally, I'll get a receipt and a business-card, etc ... but sometimes I just get a coin and a "thanks" => who cares? ... as long as the coin arrives
funny => Ken just responded while I was typing ... Ummm, I've never purchased anything from Ken, but he seems like a sweet, sweet contender!! ... I merely go where the animal-coins are roamin'!! All of you coin-dealin'-dudes rock => keep-on sellin'
@Ken Thank you for your time. Just for clarification: when I said “Invoice paper” I was not really thinking on paper. Of course it is much easier if I print it out. No issue here. However: there is NO invoice from that dealer. Even when I go to my account on VCoins I can see invoices from my other purchases when clicking on “view invoice”, but not in this case. Look beneath to where I have copyscreen two instances: That is not normal. Right?
I do. Especially if the coin turned out to be a fake, and especially because it is at the high end of the price.
well, good luck my friend (I "love" CNG ... and other than them, I know my sellers by e-mail communication) ... ummm, so I would merely contact them and politely ask them for an invoice/receipt, etc (pretty simple) => you're buying something (it ain't rocket-science)
Like eBay, vCoins does not sell coins. They link buyers with their member dealers and how you are treated depends entirely on which dealer you bought from. I have twice had to contact one dealer after ordering and paying via Paypal to ask if he had sent the coin since I had received no hint one way or another after two weeks. In both cases, he had not. That one does not get strike three. He is out. I understand you might have a death in the family or some good excuse but I expect a reply acknowledging the order other than it showing up on my Paypal list. eBay polices this much more strictly. I have received coins loose in an envelope with no paperwork (in one case, just embalmed in tape with no flip) and have received coins taped to the inside of a box large enough to have contained an RIC volume and a three page invoice/certificate. More eBay sellers use standard bubble mailers with labels you recognize as coming from eBay. I am not saying I think vCoins should be more like eBay but we all need to recognize that we are dealing with an independent business person and not buying from a Megastore in either case. We should expect differences. On eBay some coins are listed as as considering a 'Best Offer'. A dealer is given a set time to accept or reject the offer. On vCoins there is a tab allowing you to communicate with the dealer about the coin. If you wish, you might ask if they will take $70 on their $80 list. Most dealers reply within a day or two one way or another. Some are offended and don't bother. You can't assume anything on this based of them both being vCoin dealers. Just yesterday, I had to inquire of a dealer where he was located since his site gave no country and his email was not one that made it obvious. I do not buy from certain countries (having lot the last two coins from that country or the US having MOU forbidding import from some places makes this something I want to know). You can't assume anything on this either.
And I have done that my friend Senor Stevex6 aka Einstein6 Very politely and very nicely I asked. He said he would mail me the invoice and apologized for it. But 3 days went without receiving anything. So I wrote again (nicely) and reminded him nicely. Now 4 days later I have still not receive that invoice. Of course you don’t need a PhD in Rocket Science, getting two libraries named after you in Switzerland, or winning the Nobel Prize in medical breakthrough in order just merely to contact them and solve it. It just doesn’t work apparently. But well let’s see.
I can help out with the handwritten note: it is Norwegian and says "Commentary: It is also 1/2." Steve
I believe this translates that there is disagreement on the denominations of this period and you can find the same coin listed with different denominations. Does the coin weigh in the middle 3-4g range? I'd read the note as suggesting that a coin that size is a half.
Herberto, I purchase often from VCoins and have always received an invoice from the dealers. However, as a precaution, I always print the specific webpage for the coin that I am buying as well as the online sales receipt that contains a description of the coin. All VCoins purchase web pages provide an opportunity to send a message with your order, I would ask for a paper receipt. Hope this helps.
Well, that is an odd one. From what I know of how the site works, I can only see one reason why your account would show a payment but not an invoice. The order may have been cancelled. I am not saying that is what happened in your case, but that is a possibility. As dealers we have the ability to cancel an order for a variety of reasons, including non-payment, buyer decided against it, previously sold (that happens if we sell a coin at a show over the weekend and come back to find it was ordered online). It would be possible under that circumstance that there would not be an invoice showing for you. Nevertheless, you should certainly get one. Dont give up. It may be possible he sent it by mail.
