If an outside entity is needed to "force" a dealer to stand behind their sale, especially in the case of a counterfeit, you're dealing with the wrong dealers, even if on ebay. Anyone dealer that requires an overseer to make them do right isn't worth your time.
Oh, and no.... no dedicated ebay forum; I'm not sure my heart could handle the additional nonsense it could help bring out of the woodwork.
Personally, I know of reputable dealers who left eBay because the rules have changed making it totally pro-buyer. eBay just turns a blind eye to many of the crooked buyers. These dealers just got fed up with the BS. Chris
There are also plenty of crooked ebay sellers. I wish I had a dollar for every fake coin that is sold on ebay. And ebay turns a blind eye to all of the fakes being sold to unsuspecting buyers.
Yes but the solution to that isn't to create an environment that rewards dishonest buyers which is exactly what they have done. All of their policies of the seller is always wrong no matter what clearly hasn't stopped the major scam artists
You're not getting the point! If the seesaw is weighted so that one end never leaves the ground, you don't "fix it" by putting all of the weight on the other end so that it never leaves the ground. Chris
The major scammers do enough trade to easily absorb the occasional bad buyer. There's at least two or three lessons in that.
I wouldn't mind an ebay forum. I think the question is good, considering how much clout ebay has. There are pros and cons about ebay, but overall I've done quite well buying and doing a little selling on there.
I'd also vote for an eBay forum, it could be quite a helpful resource and a place to share experiences with selling/shipping/customs etc. All those who "hate" eBay and won't buy or sell there anyway can stay away. Oh, and I would know where to post a rant about my recent "customer support experience" LOL
