From Vijayanagar AV 1/2 Pagoda King Hari Hari I Islamic invaders from what is now Afghanistan/Pakistan/Iran swept into Northern Hindu India circa 900AD. Eventually, the Sultanate of Dehli controlled about 95 percent of the Indian sub continent,pushing the Hindu forces into the extreme Southern tip of India. There they set up a Independent Kingdom of Vijayanagar.
