Wow this is truthfully truly a first, this is the first time I have ever been blocked from bidding on a item on eBay / a sellers store and this is kinda sad and hilarious at the same time . lol

I like to buy Mexican silver un peso there 72% silver so I go on eBay and do a search. Now this one dealer lonestara69@ has a lot on sale . I see his buy it now is 500$ now that's too much for 72% silver inmy book so i make an offer of 200 with an expect of a counter or some Reprisal's Lew of him raising and countering with a higher offer like normal people do..instead the dealer declined. Then I place an offer for 275 which I mean to put 375 but I spilled my tea cup on my qboard.

I saw other items on the guys store I wanted to make offers on soi told him I'd be doing so. Because of my typo error dude calls me dishonest and blocked me from bidding.lol
Cause i rebidded $375... To find common ground..

Well your first offer was 40% of his list price, that is already starting out on the wrong foot and most sellers really won't bother to counter something that low. He doesn't know you made a typo he just knows your first offer was 40% and your second offer was just over 50% and then you tell him you're going to be making other offers. I don't really blame him for blocking you since with the information he had it appeared you were just going to be giving him a lot of low ball offers

Buying these cap n' ray pesos in bulk - $10 each tops and that's only if there are some earlier dates and/or higher grade coins mixed in. Typical circulated later dates, $8 a piece max.

How much were you offering per coin? The cheapest ones on ebay are like $12+ shipping. I would not have even responded to an offer if the buyer and I were that far apart. Never ends well. Feelings get hurt. Like they did here, I guess. I'd let it go. Learn from it and move on.

Most people thatbid bid 45-50% of the ask price and work your way up. But to be called dishonest is trashy..I've just purchased a 1787 fugio pcgs ms 62+ for 1900 the coins list price was 3500.. Bro I buy alot of high end stuff...

I think bidding half of the asking price is an open ended invitation to have a quality seller cut you off at the kneecaps.

Wow, that's not my experience. To say that most bidders start with bids that are half the ask or less? I've bought and sold quite a bit on ebay and I would disagree with that statement.

Eh, I disagree. I am a big fan of using automatic decline feature as a seller. If a seller does not have that set, he has to be ready for all kinds of offers. I offered $1,500 on a $2,900 coin tonight, and had similar reaction from the seller. No need to block or attack the one making the offer. Just ignore or counteroffer.

You can always find exceptions to everything but most best offers that get accepted will be the in 75-90% of list price range.

Most people that consistently offer sellers half or less of their asking price end up getting blocked.

True though sometimes its not on as a mistake or they've had problems setting it in the past so they don't use it. I do agree there is no need to attack someone for it unless they gave a nasty message or some lecture about how you should be selling your items and even then it is best to just ignore them. Your case is also different though you made one offer, one offer usually won't get anyone blocked but if you did it to multiple listings it just appears that person is a waste of time looking for deals to flip

I looked up the lot on eBay, the $375 you intended to offer would have been fair, even $400 would be a decent price

You really have to put an automatic reject floor in the make an offer thing. I had a guy run me ragged about shipping an oversized pick up only item, then he offers less than scrap. He can't offer me no mo :D

As a seller, I take no prisoners. Screw with me just once and you can never bid to me again. Last thing I need is to sell to some one who resembles the rate of change of acceleration.

The OP said he told the guy he would be making more offers. That may be what prompted the block.

I think the first offer came out to be very wrong. If you are a seller, would you not have done the same? There's limits to low balling.
