1944 Lincoln Chin & Nose

    I can't find info on this error online if it exists.

    I'm not sure if someone just damaged the coin but it looks consistent.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Looks like it took a hit -
    2016 -1944 = 72 years.. It's an old circulated Cent with many reasons it looks as it does. But you won't find any info for it being an error.

    We need clearer shots. It could be the Loch Ness Monster. Then, again, it could be a duck.

    It looks to have taken an abrasion of some sort which exposed "clean" copper - you can see artifacts of the same contact on the cheek and beard. It's not inconceivable that an alloy impurity caused that area not to acquire the same patina as the rest of the coin, but that's a very low probability especially factoring the location of it only on "high" points of the bust.
