From a dealer in Fla. I did look on Ebay but the prices were too high, all the asking prices was way over CDN bid,and as for HA their bp is a ridiculous 17.5%.. :yuck:

Yes, unless you are looking for a super-high grade coin and $$$ aren't a major consideration, I don't know how HA can be competitive with anybody who knows the market on an expensive coin. Maybe you don't mind paying a few hundreds bucks over FMV for a coin costing a few thousand dollars.

But 17.5% on tens of thousands of dollars is serious bucks.

Not much difference in price b/t an AU58 and MS60

That's because an AU-58 is likely nicer than a MS-60.

Not surprising....and sometimes, the AU will cost more than anything up to MS-62 !! :wideyed:

Unless $$$ were no object -- and they rarely are not -- if I were looking at tough-to-get pricey coins, I would probably not drop below MS-63 before I switched to AU-58.

Some of those AU-58 coins look nicer than low-60's.

Looking at frequency of auction sales listed on CoinFacts, MS63 comes up much more often than AU58, which means you'll be able to be choosier. The premium of 63 over 58 is not huge. At resale time, a low-ball offer for your 58 will be at the bottom of a far bigger range than for a 63. I'd save up for the 63 if I were considering a 58. Also, if you're looking in the 63 price range, you'll be looking at 64s, too, to make sure your 63 is every bit as nice as some of the 64s you see.

IMO, It doesn't really matter what grade you purchase as long as you paid a fair price for a decent coin.

Did you consider an MS-65 and how much was the jump in price ?

I saw.....big kink in pricing at MS-65. Then it goes parabolic as you move into the high-60's.
