Die crack or a hit ?

    1960 Franklin with what appears as a die crack through the 9, but it could be just a PMD hit. What do you think about the bell lines ? 1960 Franklin.jpg 1960 Franklin-Rev.jpg

    It looks like the point of the "9" was smashed.

    I vote "No" (left of the crack) to FBL by NGC standards. PCGS standards are meaningless to me.

    A Die Crack is on the Die itself. So when it strikes the Blank Planchet the metal would flow into the crack leaving a raised look. Your area in question is incused into the coin.. so it's a hit.

    The only part of this nice looking coin that I can see that's cracked is the bell, but that's supposed to be there. :)
