Found this 110 year old Beauty sitting in a box of world coins today at a antique store. They were about to close for the evening while I was there so I didnt get to browse very much but this caught my eye, not in bad shape for being 3 times as old as me lol. I think im going to go early next time and see what else is in that box. 19061.jpg 19062.jpg

If you're curious, there are two different versions for every year in this era, one with a French inscription and one in Dutch because Belgium speaks two languages. Unfortunately Belgian coins are not popular and these don't have much value.

I beg to differ on some older dated Belgium coins. depends which coins you are talking about ? and how rare they are and what grade they are. my avatar coin for example...sure that date is common but the grade MS-65 is almost unheard of. and very expensive.

oh well I didn't pay very much for it so I'm not worried about value I thought the coin was nice looking. I wouldn't know what foreign coins are worth money from ones that aren't there are so many. I seen alot of older very nice looking coins in that box and they are cheap so ill just pick the ones that stick out to me :)

True for older Belgian coins, until about 15 years ago. These days Belgium either uses all three official languages (nl, fr, de) or, especially with circulation coins, a "neutral" option such as Latin ... or just the BE country code. :)

Your coin is the exception though. He's not likely to find that in the junk bin. I can never pass up older coins like this but anytime I've tried to resell doubles they take months to sell because there's little demand for them. But of course if you're just collecting what you like then that doesn't matter.
