Hello CT family, I've been wondering what the value of this medal might be ever since I purchased it... 1921 medallic art co. concave/convex Big, hefty, bronze(I think) Any opinions?? Any and all opinions are welcome, even a ballpark guesstimation or wild guess would be appreciated. 'Tis my 1 and only medal and I know nothing about them.
You can Google the maker and it will give you mintage's and prices. I've done it before with the same company .
I'm pretty sure that it is bronze, and judging from the weakness of the strike, I'm guessing that it is pretty large......about 60-70mm. Chris
I searched for quite a while and found absolutely nothing, except the weight, 84 grams and that it is bronze and unusually thick
Where were you able to find mintages for MACO medals, Paddy? I have almost 50 of their medals, and I've searched for more than 10 years without any luck. Chris
Pretty! And my father was born five days after the second date, July 27, 1921. Heck, I'd make you an offer just based on that, but have no idea about its worth. Steve
Plenty of info out there, just enter the wording from the legends for most any coin or medal into a Google search and you'll be well on your way. One of these sold for $42 in an oversized NGC holder in Heritage Auction in 2010. A description of the piece, via Google Books, from an old issue of ANA The Numismatist, Vol. 35. Cleveland Art Museum bulletin Yale Art Gallery Listed on eBay for $35
Chris , I had one of their medals and did a search on the web. I ran across a site that gave some values and mintage's .I don't recall what the name was but I had purchased a medal and wanted to find a value.
