I was hoping to get some insight on a penny I came across in my collection. It's a 1943 no mint wheat penny, virtually flawless and proof like. It is a steel cent I believe.
In person it really doesn't show any signs of being clean. It came in a bag of pre-1950 pennies with authentication
No, they were from my grandmother who got them from a friend. I figured it wasn't worth anything but still an odd piece to see
The surface shows heavy signs of being rubbed, anyhow its a coin I would find for around 15 cents at my local coin shop.
You are jut sooo easy to get along with. Don't forget, the telemarketers also love their COA's. Even MCM makes them for their foreign bullion. And lordy so does mail order companies like American Mint and Govmint, Bradford Exchange...etc., ad nauseum.
Well maybe not, I dunno. I never have seen a "reprocessed" steel cent at a coin shop. I just gave a price for an average steel cent thrown in a small box.
Have you ever looked closely at the crap that gets reprocessed? Let's just say that pre-plating preparation isn't a great concern.
