Well, today I spent two hours and hit about 10 banks. Only one 40% silver half. So maybe my luck is over. If it is, I hope it goes to you. But I hope it's not...

...I have two boxes of halves coming in on Monday or Tuesday. I just started doing boxes (I usually just visit lots of banks for CWR), so these will be my 5th and 6th boxes this year.

I've had pretty crappy luck just hitting up banks for halves. My only decent score like that was back in March of 14, 11 walkers, 10 Bens, 17 64's, and 49 40%ers.
Now I'm doing 4 boxes a week and they have been for the most part...ok...not great...but ok. I'm hoping it picks up before I have to leave in June.

Best score I ever had was 13 silver halfs - 3 1964s and the rest 40%. That was a couple of years ago. You're waaay more lucky than most of us.

Only silver I found in the past 2 weeks was a 1944 Merc in $50 CWR dimes. I did upgrade my book with that one, though it's very tarnished. Good metal.

Hey, that was nothing to sneeze at! My average day is 10 - 15 banks with nothing but one with a whole lot. But this year has started out better than most, that is for sure.

You gave me a good Idea CT. I just started roll hunting last month. All I have been doing is BWR, usually in boxes. My results were not great. 1 Frankie out of 6 boxes and ten Roosies out of 6 boxes. I am going to go the the CWR route and see how it goes. There are 5 banks on my commute to work so that helps. Gas money in this hobby seems to be the only expense.

I got 6 boxes in December and 2 boxes a couple weeks ago. I got NOTHING! :-( I would LOVE an ok box. even one stinking coin. I had a box of nickels once that had 7 wartime, 12 buffalo's and 3- 1883 v nickels ( one VF+-xf) but yours is WAY better. congrats on your find(s).

    1 Box of BWR 50c...

    2 40% (both '67)
A 1989 proof but so scratched I threw it back, and a few hole-fillers in decent shape for my book. Beats just watching tv

That's a great nickel box. My best one had like 13 buffs but no war nicks.

I'd say that is pretty much the nickel dream box until someone finds a genuine 1913 Liberty head in a box of nickels....

My two half dollar boxes yielded only a single 1968-D. But yesterday I trolled a few banks and found one 1964 and 12 forty percenters including a 1970-S.

It's not very pretty looking, but it's only the second 1970-S I have found CRH.

In my last 10 bank boxes of half dollars, I have only found 3 40% halves, it's been as slow as I can remember. On the brighter side my favorite teller called me to tell me a customer had just brought in a piggy bank full of halves, found a 1948-S Walker, an unc 1959-D Franklin, 8 '64s, and 11 40%. Getting 2 more bank boxes today, hoping the tide has changed.

Searched a roll of dollar coins and two rolls of nickels on Thursday...delayed X-mas present, I think. Found an XF Wide Rim 1979-P dollar, two 1979-S dollars, and a 1948-P nickel. Not too shabby for three rolls!

Congratulations! Took me many, many years to find my 1979-P wide rim. Mine's in average circulated condition, but it's a treasure for me!

More than half the rolls of this box of pennies I got are all 2014D! Actually it's pretty lame.
