I was looking through a dud lot of Kennedy halfs searching for Silver and I came across this one. I havent seen one like this on the cuds on coins site yet.
Rim Cud Nice find. I love 1971 Error coins.. that's my birth year I want to share this webpage with you - http://www.error-ref.com/rim-cud/
I go along with some of the other published specialists who call it a (minor) rim break and a cud is a major break that involves the rim and the field. Chris
I don't know if I should agree or disagree with your statement.. did you look at the webpage I provided the OP? It's straight from ErrorRef.com
Yes, I've seen it before, and I disagree with it. I prefer to accept the definition by Alan Herbert and that of Ken Potter who both consider this to be a rim break (minor break), not a cud (major break). Chris
OK.. I don't want to get into any kind of battle of error knowledgeable minds so I will stay neutral on our definition.
What? Not even a battle with dandelion swords? Chris PS. Even though we disagree, the next round is still on me!
I have looked at different sites on this style of rim error and from just about everything I seen its a cud
Chris do you have a link where Ken Potter discusses die breaks and cuds? I can't seem to find anywhere he discusses them
