I have never found a stuck digit before and I have been searching for one. Yours is interesting even though the condition is not that great. But nice find! Thanks for sharing! (no idea on value)
I have a small advantage over you guys, my wife is trained to find such things lol.... She even knows about silver/error coins too
Yea, I'm not really a collector of paper, when I 1st got into numismatics I did.... A year later I decided to sell my paper stash and put the proceeds towards silver type coins... When I find star notes and stuck digits I just sell them at the flea market for $2-$5 About a month after I schooled my buddy on star notes, he went into a gentleman's club and asked for 100 $1 bills. They were all crispy gem cu consecutive stars!!! The very 1st Bill was a radar repeater star... He kept the 1st 30 and I sold the others for $4 a whack @ the flea and to CT members!
Quality condition Star notes, well centered, even common ones can go for $5-$10.00 if you have a market for them and flea markets are a good choice whereas trying to sell on ebay can take a long time. Selling at flea markets in the range you are charging should see them move pretty quickly?. I was able some years ago back to pick up a broken pack but the centering was slightly off but I kept them anyways.
Yep, I have a coin case I set out, and, paper $, raw OR graded usually sells b4 the coins do. Why, because uncle Jim Bob don't know much about coins but by god they know what a silver certificate is... If they don't know what a star is,they normally ask and once I'm done explaining they almost always take a chance at that price...
Here's how I display my stuff for sale at the Flea, it's a 1st day cover album bought for $1 then discarded the stamps.... Graded stuff fits perfect in the sleeves and I don't hafta buy a holder for the circulation finds>>>
Since I'm taking photos here's some other stuff, I have a few comics and misc. stuff. Plus the treasure box, which any kid who stops by my table gets a free doubloon, and yes I've had people steal free doubloons b4! Always gotta watch stuff unfortunately. The proceeds from this, are how I buy new coins for my collection. Fortunately there's only one decent flea market in Columbus so, a nice sunny saturday can yield 5,000 people walking the place
Oh wow, thanks!! I did not obviously know any of this.... So I really want to find a gas pump now!!! That is very very interesting!
