Mexico's and the world's last attempt to get silver coinage to truly circulate.

Are you sure these contain silver? There is no designation as such on the coins.

They do. The center has .925 sterling silver, while the outer ring is just base metal.
This numismatic website confirms it (same info on others too). http://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces590.html

Basically any 10 Peso that has the word "Nuevos" on it has silver content.
The non-silver bimetal versions just say "Diez Pesos" (minted after 1995), these also left out the 'N' on top. I own approximately 300-350 of the regular 10 Pesos, so I know quite a bit about these.

And here is info and pictures of the non-silver version on en.numista.

Nice. They all sell at a premium because I guess a lot were melted.

Stopped by the Fort Worth Coin Show this morning. Not a lot of tables left and very few buyers. Took my time but did not find anything interesting. Only one pick up. A 1978 France 50 Francs. I already have a couple of the 10 Francs but this big 50 just jumped out at me. 41 mm 0.8680 ASW. I did pass up a 1975 Panama Proof set at a great price but it was a duplicate of one I already have. Should have bought it anyway, bugged me all the way home.

I went to my favorite coin store yesterday and got about 400 coins, including a bunch of silver. Here are some of my favorites. 1897 dominican 1 peso.jpg 1900 hungary 5 koruna.jpg 1910 prussia 3 mark.jpg 1915 cuba 40 centavos.jpg

I have a question about some of those Australia Shillings. During the typical WWII years does the S mint mark on those coins signify Sydney or San Francisco? I am particularly fond of Foreign coins minted at S.F and in silver during WWII and was wondering about these as I just picked one up and then the thought of Sydney hit me. Can anyone set me straight?

During the war years the aussies minted coins in both Denver and San Francisco. That's what the S stands for.

As Rooman said, they are from San Francisco. Also off the top of my head, Philippines and Netherlands Indies coins were as well. I think French Indochina (Vietnam) may also have been made in the U.S. during the war years.

I've decided to focus more on my German Empire type set this year. This is only coin #3 but stay tuned... there'll be more...

Same here. I've been working on it for like a year and within the last month I've picked up two for around melt.

I did. I got great prices on everything I bought and I know I paid much less than I would have on eBay.

Good Deal! My local LCS showed me a "great deal" on world silver a few weeks ago. they wanted $250 for about 20 coins, most of which were >50% silver.
