As you said, that's self slabbed in an unsealed holder you can order from China ( note the finger notches top and bottom). I have several of these holders myself, other than being a little thick, they are a good way to protect the coin. A little different from a TPG. Although protection was one of the original selling points.

I don't collect hobo nickels but I do love potty dollars which are similar. I wish they did get slabbed as what they are. Same with love tokens and contemporary counterfeits

You're right, they are forgeries not counterfeits. There is a difference.

Counterfeits are created with the intent to pass off for the original face value of the item (usually contemporary). Forgeries are created (usually many years later than dated) to pass off as "collectible" or "valuable" at some amount many times the face value of the item.

The distinction is clearly presented in the (very good) book entitled Numismatic Forgery (Zyrus Press, 2004) by Charles M. Larson. :cigar:

You cannot make a forgery of something that never existed. A forgery by definition is a copy, copies have to have had an original

    Buffalo nickels exist.

    Morgan dollars exist.

    Barber halves exist.

    Indian head cents exist.

    Standing liberty quarters exist.

    Peace dollars exist.

    ...

Not one of those dates or dates with that mint mark exist. If you are going to argue the date and mint marks don't matter you need to contact every dealer and price guide and let them know their pricing is wrong on key dates and rarities

Dealers are not the persons of concern here. It is the general, non-numismatic public.

If they can't spend 5 seconds on the internet looking something up in 2016 they will just fall for something else anyway.

All his flips say exactly what they are as do the ANACS slabs. It couldn't possibly be more upfront

Yawn. Go read the thread on the NGC site with actual facts, not just your opinions.

I did read it. It was all rebuffed with just as strong of a counter point. You are just presenting your opinion as fact as usual

Double yawn. And, finally, an "ignore"...your posts are truly a waste of time.
