Hi all, I did a quick visit to my local flea market this morning to see if I could find any interesting or affordable numismatic items. This caught my eye. It is a brass 7 coin presidential set part of a Readers Digest Magazine collection from 1997. They are sealed on to the cardboard. I know it's probably worthless but picked it up to throw into my junk box. Got it for $4.00
According to the back, this was a free set in 1997. 19 years later it's worth $4.00. Who knows what you can sell it for in another 19 years. Know you can spend more time looking for the rest of the set. Nice little find for $4.00 Paddy.
Nice that they are still in the original mount, since they would be worth about a quarter each loose or in the free bin @ LCS. President and general token collectors like them.
Hubby received that set as part of inheritence. Plus Card #2. A five piece set. Going to have to do some research on ebay.
Around here Metro Detroit area LCS's they end up in 50% off bin they start out @ .50/$1.00 depending on condition and end up selling for .25 There were a number of separate sets on the cards at one time there were 41 tokens. The backs had a blurb about each president on them. And were done by the Franklin mint.
