Hello all y'all. I have been going back and forth with this coin, one minute I think it is a low R and the next I say nah, I just want it to be...I have compared it to Heritage Lot #20118 from their archives pages (I don't know how to link it). Any opinions or definitive guidance would be appreciated.
Here is the rev. I am a real novice at varieties, looking to buy Grellman book soon. Thanks for having a look, I thought the N-15 was for the position of the R in LIBERTY...
OK, Now I see why the N-15 is on the rev...Mine is not an N-15. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction
I still cannot tell from the photo. Have all the right books: Noyes, Wright, and Newcomb but no coin in hand + no time to continue. Sorry, as I like a challenge. Perhaps N-11,15,16
It has the right rev, but unfortunately not in the right die state. That reverse was used for N-11, N-13 (delisted), N-15, and N-16. key identifying feature is the broken right uprights of the N in ONE and CENT. On N-11 the rev was new and had strong dentils. That die pairing was used a long time and the dentils wore done considerably on the reverse (Newcomb thought it was a new variety and called it N-13.) By the time it was paired up with two other obverses to create N-15 and N-16 the rev dentils were about completely gone. Yours has strong rev dentils. N-11.
Thank you Conder101, et al. I shall try and muddle through with my new purchase....Looks like I'll need my eye exam pushed up a bit...
How did that happen ? Didn't mean to post on your comment Conder101 !? But I do now own a copy of Newcomb's work. And Now For Something Completely Different (kinda)
