Was more tongue in cheek about their lack of quality control over the past year or so. Everything from the RP pres dollar sets to ASEs to Commens to Mint sets ect has had people getting their product with spots already formed. They either changed the process sacrificing quality for increased production speed not rising/drying them properly before striking, don't have the quality control they used to and more are sneaking out, or people are just reporting crappy products more. It may even be some combination of all three but whatever it is if you order from them consistently right now you will more than likely have at least one thing you end up sending back from it.
Why in the heck didn't you TELL ME THAT in the first place? I was curious too because you said you knew something. You'll get NO FACES this time.......Only colors.
I never said I knew anything, you were the only one who took it to mean that and numerous people corrected it.....
Guess none of them understand the written English language. So I (and perhaps the other poster who I cannot speak for) stand to be corrected. In MHO I should think it is your place to make the correction, IMMEDIATELY so you don't get accused of being a ... I won't write it again here
Oh I'm not perfect, I have posted inaccuracies in the past. And you and I have had disagreements as well. And by the way it's Conder (An 18th century British Drapier and token researcher) not Condor (a large carrion eating bird).
I didn't remember any disagreements . Did they get worked out one way or another or do we still disagree? For over 40 years I've call these things "Condor Tokens." That's what my mentors called them. I just looked in my D&H figuring that's where that spelling (perhaps a British thing) came from but only found the word "token." I looked in several other books with no luck. Long story short, I just looked up "British Condor Token" on Google and found both spellings! "Conder" many be the correct word but I don't think I will be able to correct myself from an old habit. After more research, I did learn something new (as I did not understand/know about "your" Conder). In "Trade Tokens - a social and economic history by Whiting, I read that a James Conder authored a token book. BINGO! He is the Conder you wrote about. THANKS! So I better learn the correct spelling after all so I don't appear to be an ignorant fart.
Insider challenged the baseball21 guy to clarify his statement about the mint's quality control. I also thought "what the heck" when I read that post. Why is HE under fire now? Come on guys, play fair please.
Well, if nothing else I have learned on this thread, it is Conder's name. I assumed all these years it was Condor. Guess your mind reads what it wants to read.
Yes his book wasn't the first (it was the third and there were two editions), but it was more complete than the others and it was the standard reference for the series from 1798 until Atkins's book in 1890.
You guys are hilarious. Although 99 % had nothing to do with the original post, this is the most responses I have ever had.
