Up Grading Coins From Older Slabs

    That coin spotted in the holder. Best you can do is sell it to someone who wants a really old ANACS holder and buy a nice 1935 quarter with the proceeds.

    Well, good point. I've only dipped 2 or 3 over the years but not one with the level of spotting this one has. They have all been insignificant dates. We're only talking nickels and dimes here, not big bucks. But like you, I still don't want to destroy the coin.

    Here's one I did a last year. And you're right, the spotting did not all come off. Notice the area above the 4. The coin looked "something" like coin #2 before I dipped it. Bottom-line: I kinda like the old ANACS slab.
