So... can you still buy back issues in digital format?

Or do I just buy the "current" edition of weekly, monthly, and quarterly?

What if I want the other quarterlies, etc.?

I did. I find it confusing.

I clicked here for example, and I can buy what I guess is the current edition of the quarterly. But unless I'm missing it, it doesn't tell me if it is Q1, Q2, or Q3.

I too wish the site were a little clearer about which issue comes with which subscription - I'm waiting a couple weeks to be sure to get the 'latest', since John participated in a discussion about 3cs business strike pricing and came back 36 hours later with the news that they had reviewed and updated the pricing. Certainly can't fault the service on that score!

lately several dealers are mentioning that the prices in the gray sheet are not as meaningful as in the past. If there any level of truth in that statement? Or are they trying to provide a whoa is me attitude and getting the upper hand? I am curious on your thoughts.

If you can, I cannot find anything that tells you how.

The greysheet is going through change and so everyone is whining. Before it was "the prices are never updated with the REAL market", "they've been unchanged for years" or "they just add 5% every year"

It was also originally truly dealer2dealer. Then it became a secret club where you could buy a copy with a little work to be let into the secret.

The last years it became an open secret that everybody knew, so the game became "buy at bid" which means selling your coins got you offers back of bid, so ask became the price rubes paid. "Let me show you this secret dealer price guide, here's what I'm supposed to charge you, but for you, I'll do 10% less".

The new ownership did away with ask and seems to be moving it back to what it was, a true dealer price (buying) guide. The ask price then becomes whatever you can sell it for. The bid prices come not from public sales, but from reported dealer to dealer sales within their network.

I guess that makes your original statement true and false.

if you used the greysheet to set your selling prices, it is far less useful.
If you tried to use the greysheet as it was intended (what should I pay this other dealer), it becomes more useful.

  11. Sorry for any confusion folks. Basically, the Q1 came out in Jan; Q2 in Feb; and Q3 will come out in March. If you want all 3 at once best to buy the 7-pack option via "The Works" package. That way you get all 7 latest issues at once. But, if you subscribe to the Greysheet weekly, or the Monthly Option Plan, you will get receive all three quarterlies over a 3 month period.

If you are looking for historic issues of CDN publications (i.e. last year, etc) we don't currently offer those on the web site. Can offer them on demand to folks who inquire for research purposes, etc. It's not a request we get every day...

  12. Interesting and (hopefully) inaccurate. Or maybe those dealers are referring to the Greysheet as of July 2015. We've updated the sheets extensively since that time and I am seeing -- with increasing frequency -- where the market is following our numbers far more closely than ever. It's very exciting to get the prices more accurate and shed some light where it had gone dark (i.e. U.S. coin prices in general).

If anyone has specific input on prices (as with the 3cS of last month) I am all ears. In the Feb 2016 Monthly Supplement, for ex, we overhauled the entire pricing of 20th century (Indian & Saints) gold to reflect the market, as well.

From what John has told us the Grey Sheet is a completely different animal than it was before. The primary change, from what I can see anyway, is where the listed prices come from.

Whether that is a good thing, or whether that is a bad thing, that's up to the individual to decide. And from what I have seen so far, based purely on reports here, the jury is still out.

  14. Without question there are people on both sides of the opinion fence for the work we are doing. It's controversial, to say the least, to make pricing changes to a sheet that had largely been stagnant for a decade. But we are doing everything possible to make sure we represent numbers accurately and... equally important... to hear criticism and feedback and act on it.

Hip hip hooray... if nothing else, the 2-way street evidenced by your being here is cause for celebration. As is the rapid turn around on my earlier request!

    Thanks John!

Forgive me if I'm being dense here, but... what are the 7 items that you get with this package?
    1. Q1
    2. Q2
    3. Q3
    4. Latest Weekly
    5. Latest Monthly
    6. Green Sheet
    7. Blue Sheet?

  17. That is correct. Here's a link to the information/order page:

    Thanks.

But don't the monthly issues vary in their content throughout the year? Or am I remembering incorrectly?

  19. We have removed nearly all of the issue-to-issue changes in the sheets to avoid confusion.

    Well *that's* nice. Thanks!

I wish I didn't have to buy the blue & green sheets, though. I don't suppose you could do something about that?

I see where I can buy the Weekly and the monthly... But again, is there no option to buy the dif't quarterlies? When I check out, it doesn't tell me which one I'm getting or the option to choose.

Edit #1: BTW, that's what I meant by "back issues"... The prior quarterlies.

Edit #2: I guess one could argue that $45 is even cheaper than $8 (Weekly), $12 (Monthly), and $36 ($12 Quarterly x 3).

  21. We will be fixing this oversight next week with a new product to allow people to purchase the individual Quarterlies, or a pack of the (3) latest Quarterlies.
