I couldn't be sure about that, possibly, if it were a very large amount of money, but you are only talking a few dollars here. The Patriot Act ( I believe) requires a special form to be filled out if you move more $4999.99. (used to be $9,999.99).

Yeah im talking 500 1 Dollar coin pesos.....thw peso is very weak right now so i thonk its close to 15 per buck so 20 dollars us fees i think i should be able to het a bunch for under 50 bucks thats my goal...100 for 30 is close.....meaning if i could get 250 for 30 i would hust for the convenience.....if they were AU

Just curious. Any particular year you are looking for? Current? Out of circulation? All same year or mix?

Well condition is more important than year....i need AU to Uncirculated....i am not looking numismatically. I just need few hundred pesos for exchange rate price plus inconvenience fee.....i know the peso is super down right now so figured cheap cheap cheap

The local ( 20 miles) Mexican banks are not interested in supplying newer metal based money for export, as they realize the cost of replacement will continue to increase, but not so much for currency ( paper), which to a certain amount can easily be purchased and carried across to the US. If you were a business account in mexico, and needed such for change you probably could do it, but the banks look at it as US banks look at people who search rolls and then return them~ a non profit public service costing them money. In this area, the private exchange stores on US side, process large of amount of low value coins for US Banknotes, and variable amounts of mexican coins can be purchased there by a US customer, but the margin isn't enough to allow someone to look through the coins. A local coin/bullion store does well by exchanging ASE for bags of coins at a rate much in his favor. Yard sales, swap meets, 'mom and pop' stores, all very near to the border are more agreeable.

Also the depressed peso may lead to a default and new exchange rate so all old denominations would be recalled for salvage by the bank.

Maybe try here in the B/S/T forum... maybe someone here lives in/travels to Mexico and could work out a deal? Try some other coin forums? Travel forums?
