I have the 2003 and 2006 Kennedys rolls got the 2006 at the last Min. (saw the mintage on them)

Have the 2000 Wal Mart roll of Sac's and 2004 Sac's

Most of my Kennedy rolls are from pre 1971

I collect all Kenndy's from 1964-2007 including the 1998 matte and all Sacagaweas except the goodacre variety x3. They are both easy sets and well worth the time and small investment. I even collect the SMS Kennedy coins. Too bad the Sacagaweas don't come in a silver variety.

    lowest mintage so far

i2006 (d) kennedy half at 2,000,000 mintage and 2005 (d & p) sacagawea dollar at 2,520,000 mintage . these were the lowest mintages so far. the2006 (d) kennedy half even lower than 1970 mintage. well, try to keep some of these.

    Kennedy:

    2002 S 2,319,766
    2002 SMS 892,229
    2003 S 2,172,684
    2003 SMS 1,125,755
    2004 S 1,804,396
    2004 SMS 1,187,673
    2005 S 2,275,000
    2005 SMS 998,000
    2006 S .......

    Sacagawea:
    2002 S 3,211,995
    2003 S 3,298,439
    2004 S 2,992,069
    2005 S 3,273,000
    2006 S ...

Interesting that they have started to make more proof Sacagaweas than business strikes over the last couple of years. The mintage numbers of Kennedy proofs have been lower than business strikes and the SMS have had much lower mintage numbers by far.

    interesting part is

the interesting thing is that the 2006 (d) uncirculated kennedy half dollar mintage is lower than that of 1970 kennedy. this one might have a future potential to increase its value.

And with 150,000 more 1970-D's it still is only going for 13 bucks for an MS-63 a full 36 years later. How much time do you really have left? I think looking at mintage numbers exclusively can give you a false sense of potential value. That's just what I think.

    Leadfoot there is no spoon

Considering the only place you'll find these 2006 kennedy's are in mint sets, I doubt what you say relative to potential future value is accurate...Mike

The mint sold 'em by the roll and bag too Mike.

and considering the difference between Mint Set coins and circulation strikes, the rolls and bags may be of some value after all.

just my 2¢ on the issue

I collect them both in proof and unc sets, I just wish they would release them into circulation. I have not seen a Kennedy half for years in change.

    bright future

if congress pass the bill to change each year the reverse of its sac dollars. then the 2002 to 2006 sac dollars will be bright in future.

It's not a question of them releasing them - it's a question of us requesting them. If individuals and businesses do not make repeated and frequent requests of their banks to provide them with half dollars the banks won't ask the Feds for them and in turn the Fed won't ask the mint. If they did ask for them often enough, you'd have no problem finding them - they would mint them by the bazillions.

We the people are the problem - not the Fed or the mint. People plain and simple just don't want the things.
