I'm watching this one.. The sellers 6 other items are interesting also, especially the unopened Morgan roll.
Oh my gosh. I was going to post a question asking the same thing. I recently took a gamble and bought something that seem too good to be true to. But I fortunatly will only be out 8 dollars on a 12 coin set. The set I ordered was an Uncirculated set of the 1992 Canadian providential quarters(Canada's version of the State quarters). It seemed too good to be true because all other sets on ebay were selling for $20 not $5. And the listing seemed to be up for awhile and no one else bought it... (it was a "buy it now") listing.
Not sure when that showed up in their policy, but I certainly see plenty of auctions that don't follow that rule. Sorry that you were one of the "lucky" targets for enforcement. With respect to the original post, I'm thinking that a numeric grade scrawled on a 2x2 may not rise to the level of "holders from a non-approved grading company", but who knows? We're obviously long past the day when you could get an authoritative answer from an eBay representative; frankly, I doubt that they have a policy, and even if they do, I doubt that the people enforcing it understand it.
I have never seen that before. As stated, I have no idea when that appeared. Aside from that, I have seen no evidence that they are enforcing any of their coin regulations. I have reported several obvious violations/counterfeits/replicas and not seen a single coin removed.
Take a look at what else he's sold, what he sold them for along with the ratings he received. We are talking thousand of dollars worth of items. One roll of Morgans he sold for over $4,000. You never know?? I wouldn't bid on his items just because he's so new but, so far he has some validity in his listings.
I would agree about its not being in a holder. If it were, its value would soar. Its a no brainer. Also, how would it stay in such fantastic shape without a holder? Possibly, its a crack out that previously had a Details grade
Not sure I would spend that kind of money - on ebay, it might be good deals. I do know he has bought from the local shop near mean based off buying history.
After looking at all his offerings, I'm starting to suspect they're all cleaned. And I do mean suspect, because with those pictures, I can't really tell, but one or two of the pictures do suggest it.
I looked at other coins they have up for bid. They all may be cleaned, all are very rare dates, all would go for moon money if were not cleaned. Beware!
I think he just used the term "bleached" meaning dipped in E-Zest or something similar . I just wish someone would know how to blow up those pics so we could tell if it's real or fake . From the given pics I say real . But it looks like it has no luster .
