No. That could open the door of legal liability exposure for CT I would think. Being free and totally impartial with a disclaimer is key. Common sense is all that is needed. IE, stay small with newer members you don't have a rapport with to build trust and only big transactions with trusted or well known members. Plus if you always stick with PayPal and never do F&F your totally CYA anyway imho

I believe people are already doing this under the dealer section.

True . . . unfortunately, it is hard for new members to easily know who they might begin trading with, other than to go to the dealers. Maybe I'm shutting myself out of some business, but it seems to me that member-to-member feedback would foster more trust, and more trading between non-dealers.

I think this will cause more problems. This topic comes up every couple of months.

Very sound advice, however if members are trading they can't do so through pay pal.

Two points I see having bought from two CT members:

    1. It could foster more trade between members and might discourage fly by nighters who join, make a few posts and then try to peddle their wares.

    2. Anything starting with a simple misunderstanding between buyer and seller could escalate into a war on the forums. Look at some of the negative feedback on EBay. Do we want to deal with the style of some of those comments (justified or not) on these forums. (And rest assured they would NOT be limited to any designated forum. Talk about a moderator's worst dream).

Just opposite thoughts on the same proposal to digest.

In the past, I have voiced my opposition to the "No Replies" rule, but I've gradually had a change of heart. Currently, the day care facilities here are overflowing.

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts. It appears a majority of the members posting feel adding this function is a bad idea, whereas the poll has members split on the idea. What might be helpful for everyone is if someone could provide an example of what CT could be held liable for. Could they be held liable simply for any complaint they receive about a member(through a PM for example), or would it have to a complaint/feedback/seller rating that is available for the public to see.

Just do a search function for what you're asking and you can read the board owner's opinion on this.

The way I understand it that once upon a time it was allowed and didn't work well.

Yes, Peter has firmly stated CT will never be responsible for determining if a seller/buyer is good or bad (nor should they be). I've seen in older posts most members (myself included) have had great experiences buying/selling/trading with other members. It also seems from past posts that the only way members alerted other members of someone doing bad business is to start a thread and mentioning the proposed bad members name and what they did. As was mentioned in earlier posts that causes problems of it's own. I'm wondering if there are ways CT members can be alerted of suspicious buy/sell/trade activity of other members. Perhaps there is no way this is possible, just want to prevent CT members from getting bad deals.

A feedback system would be nice but the board software limits it a bit on what can be added in most cases. I've done many transactions on CT and have only ever had a single bad transaction where the other party didn't ship the coins or refund my money other than that all have been positive.

In the past, I believe that Peter has said that he wanted to avoid flame wars.

For the record, CT members are allowed to make positive or negative posts about BST (buy, sell, trade) experiences they have with other CT members. They always have been allowed to do that. And there have been many made over the years.

That said, if a thread devolves into a flame war then the thread will be locked. It's just that simple. And if the rules of the forum are not followed, by anybody, the rules will be enforced. In other words your actions can and will have consequences. And this applies to everybody.

BST conducted between 2 CT members is between those 2 people and only those 2 people. And anything you do is at your own risk. CT, nor its staff, will NOT get involved in any way, shape, or form. NOT EVER !
