U.S. Mint To Hold Design Competition

    Agreed, they suck. However, the mint has been doing contests like this for over a hundred years. This isn't new. Neat, but not new.

    Well, I guess it's all the junk (3rd world looking design) coins coming out of the mint these days I'm talking about. We all know the difference between the quality stuff and crap coming out of the mint today.

    The real tragedy is that a lot of coins that end up with lackluster designs had some very beautiful ones considered that were passed up

    I actually like the SBAs more than most people do and would certainly rather have them back then the dollar coins we have now, but that eagle design that was rejected is hard to argue against.
