Honestly, what would you think or do?

If you opened the end of a roll of coins and pushed them out into your hand and immediately saw this, honestly, what would you think or do? I'll tell you what I did later. 20160202_171204-1.jpg

I dont understand what your saying. I would just take it out its prob a painted half dollar or gold plated (so fine that it is worth almost nothing)

I see a possible silver coin and one that looks like it is missing the reeding. Possibly the reeding is worn or it's a foreign coin in there.

2 halves used in slot machines 10 years ago or older and one which is plated maybe.

You could really hope it would be a Liberty $20 since they have reeded edges and are similar in size to a half dollar. We had someone in a coin club I used to belong to that said they found a $20 in a half roll back in the 1950s.

No offense but shouldn't you be searching your rolls of halves that you have and have tortured us with?

To reveal what i did. I smiled, sat and looked at the stack for a minute, said to myself "now there's a conversation piece, set the stack down and took that photo. From reading some of of the.post of the roll searchers here, I know some can't contain there excitement of a find, others only get excited when they find nothing, and others are so determined that they convince themselves they have found something great, and some may even say a prayer before what is inside reveals itself.
Me, well, I just sat there wondering what may have been on the mind of who put it there. Knowing there is a gold coin of this type, made me smile at the fact that it crossed my mind. From the other coins that found in these rolls, I knew whomever collected or hoarded them knew little about the coins or some of them wouldn't be there. But everyone loves gold.
Could it be this person was color blind, in a hurry to cash them in for need of cash, or just instinctively knew it was worthless? A quick look could tell most of the story, but instead of looking, i set them down and took a picture. I figured i would share in some of the wondering.

It's been over 40 hours. This is what i do know. There are 3 40% halves in that stack, what years i don't know, three or 4 casino coins, the most that I've seen in any one roll of this batch and a gold colored coin that the chances of it being anything other than plated are as close to absolute zero as the calories in celery. I haven't even been in the same room with them since I took the picture. They are mine and aren't going anywhere.

I've been working really hard on acquiring two patents, and a design for another. To me that is way more exciting at the moment. Coins is what I do when I take a break.

Hey Hommer, are you sure your not part of the writing crew for Oak Island and the likes? Talk about dangling the carrot in front of the horse.

At hour sixty he has removed the first four coins. With only one coin remaining between finding out if is gold plated or not the excitement continues. Tune in next week when we will see what is underneath that last remaining coin.
