Wait, that's real? What's going on here? It looks as if the devices were cut out, placed back into position, and filled with lucite or some other clear medium!

 

Yes, when I took the picture and saw it on the screen, I thought I was tripping. The devices look like they are floating up off the surface of the coin - it has a huge 3D effect. But no, absolutely not photoshopped...

The coin is tremendously prooflike, in an NGC slab. The coin is also very deeply basined. Based on the angle of the lighting I used, you are seeing a double reflection - the slightly frosted devices are reflected on the inside of the slab, which is reflected back onto the mirrored fields of the coin.
