The correct term is Doubled Die, not Double
I want to share this webpage with you - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doubled_die

quote - "Note that the proper terminology for this occurrence includes the letter 'd' at the end of the first word, hence "doubled die". The term "double die" without the first word ending in 'd' is not proper numismatic terminology" closed quote ;)

Your quote is appreciated but unnecessary and remember (saying you're sorry is a sign of weakness) as a cooler in my younger years I have been shot stabbed and beaten with almost anything you can imagine and believe me that hurts a lot more than a few words
My visual observation from the photographs provided the full size photos of the nickel definitely agreed that it is a nickel overs and reverse and now to the other photos provided the first photo of the nickel tells me that there's some kind of problem at 11:00 on the reverse the second photo provided tells me a me lot more visually at 11:00 inside the rim looks like too me the remnants of an old rim burr going down to the letters are signs of a fatigued hammer die which have started cracking off the corners of the letters and shows signs of hub doubling under closer observation 2x only confirms my initial observation. conclusion I see and rim bur with die cracks off the lettering to do a stress die so it is not incorrect to say that this nickel has die cracks but this is only my visual observation opinion

It's too early in the morning to be talking about semantics and yes you're correct I am human I make mistakes

I don't need advice about sharks or die cracks or dimes. The crux of the matter is that you just don't like admitting that you can be wrong about anything. Every time someone tries to suggest something to help improve your numismatic experience on these forums, you change the subject to divert blame from yourself. I hope you enjoy your die cracks. They will probably end up being the only company you have here.

Chris thank you for your quote and your quote so early in the morning is totally uncalled four as far as I know you could be living in the middle of the United States and never seen the ocean only in photos and as an individual who has personally held various types of sharks and seem you're the one that does not want to take some good advice. I will be the first one to admit that I am human and do make mistakes, and evidently yourself and other members do not realize when you use the word (wrong) that that's an aggressive word and promotes an aggressive response try using (incorrect) is a more appropriate word and not so aggressive and Chris and in all my post have you ever heard me tell someone they are wrong (NO) you haven't and you never will yourself and other members pride yourself on the proper numismatic terminology I yet you don't step back and take a look at what you're telling people I have heard every one of you tell someone that their wrong and the coin is not worth anything and the worst one is common you need to clean your own closet out before you try to clean someone else's closet and evidently you did not grasp the meaning of the dime photo so life goes on let us all have a good day

I'd be careful usmc, your repeatedly backhanded statements will not be tolerated. Chris was the one initially coming to your defense and trying to help you and you stepped all over him. Bravo for proving my point but lighten up dude

Sir with all due respect to you and Chris I personally want to think you what do you think when you verbally attacked someone that they're not gonna respond and I'm not a pacifist I may be rude crude and socially unacceptable believe me I've been quite passive in my response it seems to me you can dish it out but you can't take it when it comes back to you have a good day

The raised "layer" on the edge of the rim is NOT a die crack. However, IMO the poster may be referring to the die breaks at the tops of some letters on the nickel.

This is not the Old Corps (Kill without remorse) it's CT. Saying you are sorry for a mistake is a sign of class, manhood, and humility. That's what I was taught. :angelic:

You just want to suck all the fun out of this:blackalien: someone sticks a glock in my face without hesitation or remorse. as an old country boy I was taught the same, you can apologize without saying you're sorry in some cases I was not sorry but had to apologize or suffer the consequences and thank you for your quote:rolleyes:

Figured that By saying " i was sorry". Might have been the clue that I gave you back the leash to your Goat! I am now figuring that you don't have a goat! Are we gonna find some Die cracks Or What?

Thanks for your quote and by the way had the goat for dinner last week I personally though it was a little bit chewy but the gators seem to like it:cigar: OK back to die cracks found a nice one in pocket change I have seen smaller die cracks on homesteads but nothing like this one:woot:
