I can't help posting these, sorry if I'm flooding the board. But it's educational at the very least. 1954 s franklin.jpg

First thought was 66 then zoomed in I see several hits so I'll go 65/65+.
Bell lines look pretty good too.

I'm always wrong when I disagree with Larry,

Nope, I think it was accurately graded. Look at the cheek. A mark like that would drop it at least one full grade.

Is this the same coin as the one displayed in the beginning?

It's arguable once you look at the slabbed coin image as opposed to the TrueView image.

However, the coin is NOT worth sending in to be regraded. Just as an FYI, generally speaking, white coins are technically graded "harder" by both major TPG's, by 1 to 1 1/2 points, to pleasantly toned coins of the same date/mm. MORE IMPORTANTLY, the odds of this coin ever being graded FBL were low, and that is where the money is at for grading purposes.

If you bought the coin to flip, take your losses and move on. If you bought it for a set, it is still a very attractive coin, with near FBL for the date/mm. It's a nice looking 1954-S Franklin.

I don't know, compared to the other Frankies I graded that one looked pretty good. Here's two 1948 65FBL and then the coin in question IMG_2961.JPG IMG_2962.JPG IMG_2964.JPG

Those two are beautiful. They have no distracting marks. The '54 does have that noticeable facial mark. With Frankies, that have prominent devices, one really noticeable hit can drop the grade. The two above have nice clean devices.

The first image is hiding that nasty hit to the face. I'm at 63 from the slab image.
