Nice. If I go with the 1911 maybe I could get all U.S. coins for that year.

Morgandude11 As long as it's Silver, I'm listening

They look accurately graded to me at MS 63. Remember, Gold is soft and shows contact marks easily. If I were going to pick one of the two, I would get the 1911, as it is nicer. However, neither one is a 64.

Depends on the grade. I have posted detailed historical premiums on the MS-65 common premiums in other threads . It was down to about 50-60% last Spring but I haven't checked it lately. That's down from premiums of 100-300% from years and decades ago.

If you like the coin, and are buying as a type coin and not strictly a gold "investment," then I think the 11-D looks very nice and reasonable priced (if it is that good looking in hand.)

@GoldFinger1969 , welcome back. I saw you made a reappearance on the NGC site as well. I'm guessing you've been busy.

Yes, and a bit out of the loop on coins the last few quarters....this is an expensive habit to sustain while job searching !! :D

BTW, I was wrong on the premiums for Saints during the bubble...it was 600-800%, total insanity.

Don't worry, there are still St. Gauden's available in the market ;)
