Hey guys, got a few things at a local lcs yesterday. Saw this and figured for $5 figured why not. Took me all of a few seconds to find it on VV. I can't find any for sale so my questions are: Is it really as rare as only 5 confirmed, what grade?, and does anybody have any guesses as to value? Thanks http://varietyvista.com/Variety Master Listings/washington rpms 1950-1989.htm
Did they tell you it was D/D/D or are you assuming that it is? IMO Looks like a damaged Mintmark to me.. due to the rest of the Quarter showing a lot of circulation marks.
No I cherrypicked it not knowing which rpm it was. Paddy, go to my VV link and you'llsee that the LDS markers are the die cracks through PLURIBUS & RIC
Paddy, I was just licking my chops and itching to jump all over you in an abrasive way after you thought the "D" was damaged Glad I kept reading the replies.
Nice find ! took a second look to see the error. Have no idea what or anything it's worth other than the silver content. I would have liked to see it BU.
Thanks guys. I hope someone can chime in that knows washington rpm's about the rarity; if 5 +/- is truly the known pop @Dave Waterstraat just wait till you see the chinbar I got for $20
