Wow, a prooflike EID MAR! :p;)

Inquiring minds want to see the rest of the NGC slab to know what that's all about (i.e., exactly what flavor of exonumia that is, to be accepted by them).

I know you for cool exonumia. Am legitimately curious about what that obviously modern EID MAR, obviously in an NGC slab, happens to be, is all.

AHA! The Zoid is a trickster. ;)

I was mistaken about it being in an NGC slab. It's a self-slab capsule (I didn't know they had those with NGC style prongs, but am not at all surprised to discover that the Chinese are making them). And I was also mistaken about that being just one coin, er- um- token. He used two, and only showed us the sides without the mandatory COPY stamps.

Still, in silver, with a mintage of only 26 pieces, that's pretty cool. Maybe even rarer than a real EID MAR, too- and a heck of a lot cheaper!

@lordmarcovan that is rarer than a real Eid Mar. I think the total population is somewhere around 60 by now. :)

@ZoidMeister very cool! Thanks for posting!

And a broken denarius minted under Augustus celebrating the Secular games (Ludi Saeculares) in 17 BC, featuring 'Caesar's Comet', above Caesar's head.

Please enlighten me on how you can peg a coin minted 11 months after his death. I believe it but don’t understand.. Please tell me.

This is the only J.C denarius in my collection. It was struck on a very irregular planchet, but that is precisely why I like it.
