IDDDR high relief 40% PF Hub 8 - already doubled working hub - Early stage A & B and die state EDS & EMDS show doubling both ways on most letters. CCW spread in the form of split serif's on the upper left and lower right serif's of UNITED depending on die stage and state. CW spread in the form of split serifs seen on the lower left serifs of TATE of STATES and AMERICA. Stage B: Show AMERICA with split serifs on both lower left and right serifs "a shift to the center" on E PLURIBUS UNUM in the form of split serifs. Stars 3-13. FG & leaf below. Bottom right serifs of the NE of ONE. Early Stage B have both left and right lower serifs with split serifs. DLAR of DOLLAR have split serifs on the lower left serifs. First L of DOLLAR has split serif's on the upper right and the lower right, the second L of DOLLAR has split serif's on all three serif's. Stage C: Show split serif's on the tips of LL of DOLLAR. Stage D: Shows only the left serif of the N in ONE.

Obverse Description: CW class I doubling seen on IN GOD WE TRUST, date FG, LIBERTY.

Reverse Description: CCW spread in the form of split serif's on the upper left serif's of UNITED, CW spread in the form of split serif's seen on the lower left serif's of TATE OF AMERICA, a shift to the center on E PLURIBUS UNUM in the form of split serif's, stars 3-13 FG & leaf below, bottom right serif's of the NE of one, early die stage show split serf's on the tips of LL in dollar.


Markers: Obverse Kalantzis specimen Stage F: Scratch pattern eye pocket. Stage F sports a bulls-eye caused by abrading and polishing of the die; short die scratch inside the iris is seen in all stages. Die scratch pattern in hair under R of LIBERTY. Obverse Kalantzis specimen Stage G: Small die chips on the rim to the right of the I of IN and a second die chip on the rim under the first T of TRUST. Reverse Kalantzis specimen Stage E: N/S die scratch pattern just above the right leg of the R in dollar as well as the lower half of the eagles wings and tail feathers. Diagonal die scratch on the rim above the D of UNITED. Two die scratches on the rim above the first S of STATES.

This is the " R " of LIBERTY, I think it is .
Its number is IDDDO-157, there's also 2 other DDOs with Hub 7 ( 138 & 154 )

IDDDO Hub 7 high relief proof ( Full and Peg-leg R in Liberty ) CCW Class II IN GOD WE TRUST. Class V on IN GOD WE TRUST. CCW seen on LIBERTY. W of WE has split serif's.Note: CCW spread on LIBERTY is tripled, depending on the working die's condition determines how much tripling shows.

The last letter P stands for peg-leg abraded R in liberty and S for full serif R in liberty.

Lets figure out the Reverse Hub and I'm not done with the obverse yet either . I'm going to pin down the DDO and use the Peg Leg ( R ) with the images posted to do it .

See if ONE DOLLAR and E PLURIBUS UNUM have any doubling on them .
First check before you take images, these proof are monsters to take images of ..

 

I am sure its IDDDO-157, which is Hub 7 ( Obverse ) and the Reverse is Hub 4 . It could change to 138 if E PLURIBU is doubled . The site here wouldn't let me post all the images, to many to post, CT only aloud 20 images so I left an image of the Mint-mark .

1971 S Silver PF Obverse - Reverse

Class: Obverse class V + II, Master/Master.

Obverse Description: Medium class V spread seen in the form of open split serifs on IN, G of God, W of WE, TRUS of TRUST. The E of WE has a thin class II doubling on the bottom center arm and the bottom of the upper arm. The first 1 in date shows an open split serif on the top also on the right bottom of the 1. Doubling also seen on the mouth of the 1 to the left of the top. Both serif tips of the nine show have split serifs. The 7 is doubled top left and the bottom right as the first 1 in date is. The last 1 has a notch on the top as seen on the first 1 of the date. Doubling seen on the G of FG. Tripling at the back of the bust also shows in hair. LIBERTY is doubled at medium strength in a CCW direction.
Reverse Description: Doubling seen on the left tops of R & I of AMERICA and there opposite bottom serifs and the star under. The last A bottom right serif has a split serif. Split serif shows on first leaf tip under the FG. Two last leaf tips also have split serifs. The left bottoms of NE of ONE show doubling. Left bottom of D of DOLLAR as well as the bottom right serifs of the A & R of DOLLAR - See IDDDR-51 for more pictures from the same Hub/Die family 4.

Markers: Obverse peg leg R in LIBERTY. Obverse: A group of die chips are seen in the hair below and to the left of the R of LIBERTY. Die chip on the back of the nose; another to the left of the ear and on the jaw line. Die chip on the back of the bust between the FG and the end of the bust. Die chip in the field to the left of the W of WE.

Here's a close up with the zoom only half way used .. .

 

I have been looking at this scope myself. Are you doing anything to diffuse or dim the lights. When I use my Dynolite some of the auto controls adjust the pic some times to being so dark that you really can't wee what you're looking at, espsecially on very clean and shiny silver. Your images seem to be very clear and easy to make out. Are you doing anything aside from just using the scope controls?

 

On this proof coin, I dimmed the lights on the scope, as low as the scope will go . Then I have a LCD trouble light to put over-head .

I like to put the scope lights above the image, at least on this coin .

I also own a stand like the one I posted, it help to control the scope lights to the area I'm photoing ...
