I am not infallible and didn't have the coin in hand to examine. The best that I can do is judge from what I can see and offer an opinion.

  3. Now we have 2 people that "dont care what PCGS thinks" and think they are better.
Stop with the ideology please. The BOTTOM line is that when I go to sell my profile coin I am going to receiver a lot more than money than the $60 ish an MS63 is currently going for. If you argue that your not as smart as you think. And Since you are arguing about natural/unnatural and you value your "35 years of experience" over PCGS (who has machines and tools that I guarantee you don't have) revert back to the previous sentence to get what I think about your educated posts.

I am done arguing with you sir. Two very experienced people have given you their opinions based on years of experience. Sure you may get more for your coin then it's list price, but not from me nor any other experienced and educated collector. I hope that you realize that PCGS, NGC, ANACS, ICG or any other grading company can make mistakes and very often do.

I didn't see the thread and cannot personally comment on the coin either way, but it is wise to never confuse "dealer" with "expert" even if many, including here, seem to do just that. This certainly isn't to say there are not many highly knowledgeable to even expert-level dealers out there, but there are many, many more who are not, and this isn't taking into consideration the guys who simply call themselves dealers or pretend to be experts. For better or worse, this isn't, say, medicine where a title suggests knowledge or education in a particular area; any schmo can call themselves a "dealer" or with the necessary startup costs, open a storefront, or start a website.

Just out of curiosity, do you happen to have any links to auctions with very low value coins in holders like this? I'm curious as to what the holder itself sells for. Maybe some of these should essentially be considered exonumia pieces. :)

The reverse of that morgan is AT or the image was played with. It's not natural looking.

The fact that unlearned people will spend silly money on unworthy coins does not bolster your argument, and you are not helping it by believing that the only capable graders work for TPG's. I will endeavor to remember that you don't think I know what I'm talking about, and work to prevent offering any future advice.

You are the kind of person the TPG's love. Keep up the good work.

  9. Exactly. I posed a question about a generation1 PCGS holder premium and it turned into my profile picture authenticity thread and people arguing on pure principle of their personal ideology manifesto. Quite annoying.

  10. So the book value is $42-$57 depending on NGC or PCGS and your saying its a $5-$10 coin. Id like to see a link where any auctions has sold for this amount.

  11. You gave an opinion on a question I never posed on this thread. So helpful you have been. Thank you for your service.

You were the first to mention that you buy and sell "premium" toners and pointed to your avatar coin as an example. I was simply responding to your comment.

  13. Your argument is narrow minded. Reality in the coin world is completely different from your ideological argument. From most people's ideological arguments on here. If your not in touch with the reality of how things really are you are not going to make many great deals..buying or selling.

  14. I know. It's because at first I was agreeing with you that there is a huge difference in toning quality. Your assessment of the toning on the quarter was on. I was trying to show you that the question posed was not about me trying to talk up the coin or overstate the beauty of the toning. I just wanted answers on the holder...which evidently...is too hard for people to answer. Is this what this forum is always like?! Annoying people who are trying to show everyone how "smart and experienced" they are......Its not a good look people.

You've misquoted me. See the below quote. I only called it a "low value" coin, which I stand behind. Here's a link of a PCGS MS65 1942-D selling for $20: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1942-D-MS65...002077?hash=item4af3ed681d:g:ZdQAAOSwsFpWRfgl

With all due respect, the post you quoted wasn't about you or anyone in particular, and in no way was meant to back the positions you've taken here. It was you, sir, who injected your profile coin into the conversation, in another apparent ad, so you cannot rightfully point the victim finger and accuse others of mistreating you.

There's an old saying that, perhaps, you should take to heart: "if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen".

I've no doubt someone out there will pay a fair premium for the avatar coin, but that certainly does not make it worth it, or mean they are an educated buyer simply because they're willing to drop excessive coin for a little entombed color. Even though some may find it attractive, that coin isn't a "high end toner" (to say the least) and I find it highly suspect that someone claiming to deal in such coins doesn't know this. Perhaps equally as suspect (again, considering the type of dealer you claim to be) is the apparent lack of familiarity with rattler holders; things simply aren't adding up, yet here you are throwing mud.

If I may be so bold as to suggest someone here to advertise should probably refrain from any sort of unprofessional behavior. No one has attacked you, your opinion, or your intelligence, yet that's exactly what you're doing to others. It is one thing to post as an opinionated member, but something else entirely to so do when representing one's business.

  17. Your post is laughable. Do you honestly think I would take any suggestion from you? This is my company and whether it succeeds or fails is on me. I created it! Just to be clear, what happens on this forum is not going to make or break my success. I just wanted to see what was on here. If I want to speak more casually to people on here I can. It's my company. Whether that reflects poorly or not is of no consequence to you. That's the problem these days. Everyone is so scared of losing customers so they have to be PC even when people are saying stupid things. I already have a job. My company is just an additional to my life. No need to act like I won't be able to pay the rent if I don't succeed.... I like my odds of succeeding though. As for you and your "I'm not attacking you I'm just attacking you" post, You seem to be just bored and wanting the attention. I actually agreed with your initial post until you felt the need to continue. Your response is dripping with inaccuracies and hypocrisy. You don't understand the economic definition of "worth"...obviously. That isn't a high end toner? Please enlighten all of us with the concrete definition that everyone goes by for "high end toners." Since mine "obviously" is not, there must be a standard definition that you are going off of. Assuming you know anything about me...you don't so don't "assume" anything. We all know what assuming does. Add in your "suspicions" to that category as well.

Here is what's going to happen. I am going to continue posting on here. Make friends with the people I choose to on here. Let this be a notice to everyone on here. If I post a question and you want to help out. Please and Thank You. If you question anything about me, my business, prepare to run the gauntlet with me. It's that simple.

I think that folks here and on all of the forums are going to question anything that gets posted. That is just the nature of forums. I feel it's healthy that way.
Hope you hang out here and have fun with it.
