Very nice batch of coins indeed! I'm really surprised about the MS-66+ Morgans, they are a great value compared to 67's. And that CAC bean is icing on the cake, great haul!

I just sent a coin to the Heritage ANA National Money Show Auction in March......be sure to save some money for that one

 

So which one did you send? I'd love to look at it...

 

The second thing I do after receiving my coins from Heritage, or any auction house for that matter, is remove the auction lot stickers. I have a comprehensive spreadsheet with all my purchases so I know when, where and how much I paid for each coin.

 

Me too.

And I save the sticker with the invoice. Unnecessary and maybe a bit OCD, but it's what I do.

 

Nice haul! I came home from FUN with a similar handful, then bid in the Heritage world coin sale this week. I might be grounded until Central States.

No Dave, not off hand but Dave's assumption is valid on 1g. Honestly I looked for the vam3 ray polishing and stopped there. You know I'm just starting to brooch peace dollars in general let alone vamming them. I've always seen them as Anna's ugly little sister but I'm beginning to come around. Think I'll go vam the 21 right now

 

I was looking for the Business Strike from one of the 3 Proof dies (2 obv, 3 rev), which are characterized by particular polishing at WE.

 

Yup, I've realized that in the last hour I've been trying to attribute her. I'm going crazy. Maybe it's the toning blocking out fine pups but I'm not getting anywhere. Some listings are vauge as well

Here in MD we're not charged state tax on purchases of $1000 or more when buying gold or silver.

 

I buy lots of silver from JM BULLION which is based in Irvine , ca , , they never charge tax on $100 and up sales ... great deal while they get away with it ... please no tax men listening

 

Lucky ?? Here in Calif. we have 10% sales tax in most areas, our gas prices are some of the highest in the nation, currently $2.39 a gallon (Costco). Our state income tax is also very high.
One good thing is, there is a cap on annual property tax increases, of only 2%.

Hey @SuperDave what's up with the second 1 in the date. Looks like a minor grease strikethrough but there is other rim.device weakness although not as strong as seen on the 1. Is this due to the high relief dies pushing the metal up to center to fill the HR?

 

That little ridge at the edge of the letter is something I've seen maybe three times in the last ten years or so - not enough to even know if the occurrences are related - and I've no idea of the cause.

I had a Morgan with something somewhat similar and am still clueless about it years later. Maybe I'll post it up here for opinion; it looks enough like PMD to probably cause a good argument.

 

I remember you bringing that morgan up.a few times dave. I remember seeing it if it's the one I'm thinking about but I don't actually remember it. Let's get some opinions going on it here. I want to remember

Honestly, at this point I wish someone would just put up a solid factual argument for PMD on it, so I could move on.
