2015 Saratoga p rim burrs this thread is for the new members and young members that may be unfamiliar with Rim burrs, and for the special members we know the monetary value of these coins are only worth face value or what someone is willing to pay for it. But overall I think some of the rim burr can be quite interesting.
For the unfamiliar you will be looking at flake burr-compression burr-Loos burr.
Please enjoy the photos. burr-3.jpg 2000-D-7.jpg Picture 005.jpg

I appreciate your reply I'm sure there's other members out their that can better explain the cause than I can, and as far as loos look at the photo number three this is a loose piece of burr barely hanging onto the coin, and less you were the second recipient of this coin or the 5 recipient, let me explain this second recipient means the mint makes the coin and sends the coin you thus you're the second person to actually get that coin and to actually touch that coin. 5 recipient means from the mint to the Federal Reserve to the coin rollers to the bank's and to you in these two cases you are most likely to find a loose burr most of the times they are lost in circulation, your best bet to find these is in mint rolls or bank rolls. And maybe a member with a little more computer savvy can provide you with a link on how clad sheets are made this should explain the compression burr. Again thank you for viewing
