This should describe a lot http://www.wcscoin.com Not that I am trying to promote the site but it's a sign that counterfeiters are taking their game one step up.
Maybe if these were fake NGC/PCGS holders, but the "slabs" are WCS. Very low chances to do anything about it, especially since it is hosted in HK.
1st there specifically only doing chinese coins that have know to be heavily faked ,2 there only send out under there own label, and they've heavily mimicked NGC's system of slab and ANACS original coding system..
"...WCS(World coin Service) Is famous for COINS for identification, classification and grading of the company. WCS appraisal of COINS will be loaded into a small box sealed and is in accordance with the quality of labeling scores and number. Its members can according to the number query information through the network system. WCS was established in 2004, the WCS ANA became the American numismatic association (American NumismaticAssociation) professional coin collector association designated agencies. WCS rating system is similar to PCGS. Each submitted to NGC coin will make at least three independent rating experts rating three times, and then decide the level of the currency. Coin grade appraisal is a team work process, by at least three professional grade appraisal expert appraisal for each coin. The levels of WCS appraisers are come from different backgrounds, but they all have engaged in coin distribution of work experience. Because in the money market level appraisal aspect, experience is a crucial factor business department. And it is worth mentioning that unlike all other coin appraisal services, WCS strict rules itself with the full-time appraisers grade, shall not participate in any coin trade activities..." says
Wow! That last quoted explanation is Chinese translated back into English, very poorly at best. Reminds me of easy assembly instructions from Chinese-made put-together items. Those coins have got to have 11' pole marks all over them.
they have a U.s. based address 1319 stevens ave apt VC, San Gabriel,CA 91776-4446 EMAIL: wcscoin@hotmail.com which in most common places if you get letters in your apartment number you live in either a warehouse or basement
The website was created last month, and is registered via a Chinese company, Hichina Zhicheng Technology LTD, a large registrar in China. This firm is likely affiliated with Alibaba as the Registrar Abuse contact email is the same addy as the Alibaba abuse email. Can't touch it.
What can the FCC do about a website registered and physically domained in another country? Ask the Chinese to step in? Heh.
If you enter that zip code into a search engine like yahoo, you get a couple of pages with different webpages, most with world coin logos.
It's a little funny that after all the Chinese have asked the US to not allow information from US websites into China , that we might now ask them
This is not a surprise, self-slabbers in the US seem to be getting higher prices. Only a matter of time before the counterfeiters would do the same with their crud.
Appears they only have one label for all grades of their "products". http://www.wcscoin.com/americas-c-2/
This reminds me of the issue of counterfeit handbags. http://www.cnbc.com/id/100931854 http://www.businessinsider.com/chin...g-millions-worth-of-luxury-brands-2015-7?IR=T It doesn't give you much confidence, does it?
There is an address listed for this business. It's a house not an apartment as stated on the website. I know this place, did a project a few months ago just down the street. Owners are Chinese investors. Go figure...
