Hey everyone, I don't know if anybody else has seen this, but Vcoins is having a giveaway. https://www.vcoins.com/winfreegiftcard.html Just wanted to share with everybody. Good luck! Plus, I just bought my second coin of the year: A nice Hasmonean prutah. Thanks, Erin
How about inviting some friends? I can make an account with my other email address and you can invite me. Erin
I still don't know what Twitter, Instagram, Vine, or Snapchat are all about, and I'm 30 years old. I know they exist because other people I know usee them and I've heard them mention them...but I've never so much as checked out any of those things. I do have a Facebook account dating back to around 2005 or 2006, when Facebook was only a site for college students to interact with each other for organizing study dates, etc. Back when I opened my account you had to verify you were a college student...it was not opened to the outside world. On average I use my Facebook account once or twice a month. Sometimes even once or twice every three months. I'm proud to say that if anyone googles my real name, all they will find is a ton of sites referencing me as an attorney, some articles I've written for newspapers on Bankruptcy, foreclosure, and general legal matters, and the fact that I am a Miami Marlins baseball fan, have a kid, and I'm a registered Republican. THAT'S IT! No naked photos, no drinking photos, no rude anything, no pornography, no nothing. That's rare for someone my age.
Well, I understand VCoin goal in doing so as we all know this is blatant free advertisement through contestants. However, unless you are an internet star like SoFloAntonio with no remorse in promoting stuff that'll get hate on it, no chance to win. I don't know about much Pewdiepie (albeit I heard about him as YouTube's most popular user via others), but he would instantly win if he was into numismatics. This is the Zipf's Law written all over again: you are big, you get bigger. Either financially or network strength.
Yeah, I just wanted people to know in case they wanted to join in. I know I won't win and I'm cool with that. Erin
Haha same. I entered the VC, but most FB friends of mine that are my age & less don't care about coins.
That's why you need to have kids. My 5 year old has turned into an ancient coins junkie thanks to me. He literally asks me every day if he can see my coins, and just yesterday he told me he wanted an ancient Roman coin for his birthday.
That's awesome, Sallent! I'm hoping to turn my nephew into an ancient coin addict. He's only 2 1/2 right now, so I'm going to start building up a small collection for him. When he's older he can discover the fascination of holding a 2000 yr old coin in his hand and. Erin
Well, my case is the opposite and ironically, the same. I have a lot of numifriends, but they all want to win something as well, so everyone is going viral with this.
I entered the contest and have also asked a few friends if they would help me out. Some said yes and some said no and that's fine with me. It is a sales pitch to get more customers through advertisement. On the upside, it is a friendly competition to get people involved and to participate in a competitive event. I'm doing it and I'm having fun as well to a degree. If I win a giftcard, I'm going to be using it to finance some more coins for the website I'm building, in the areas I'm lacking in like ancient Greek coins for example. It did not occur to me that some might have a negative view of it other than it being a advertisement theme. I hope that no one thinks ill of me trying to win the contest, even though I won't be too disappointed if I don't win. But I gave it a honest try.
